Dave Hilliard is a distinctive visual artist who creates drawings and installations with all the exuberance and anarchic energy of eighties comedy heroes 'The Young Ones'. The work has been acclaimed as strong, political and challenging.
Born in Northampton in 1978, Hilliard graduated with a degree in printmaking from the University of Wolverhampton in 2002. He has since gone on to develop a strong drawing style portraying a darkly comic vision of the booze saturated retail park that is modern Britain.
His drawings and politically mischievous installations have been exhibited in various venues including the Whitechapel gallery, ‘The Others’ project space in Stoke Newington and Birmingham’s Custard factory gallery.
Hilliard is currently looking to open a dialog with curators of galleries and project spaces; to disseminate his anarchic practise and showcase new work.
